Any self-employed individual, firm or corporation operating as an insurance broker, authorized by law and operating within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), whose aims and practices are consistent with the objectives of the council shall be eligible for full membership.
Applicants must have the recommendation of two current TIC board members as sponsors. Minimum requirement: commercial lines premium above $20,000,000. Brokerages outside of the GTA must be members in good standing of their provincial brokers’ association to qualify.
Any self-employed individual, firm or corporation operating outside the Greater Toronto Area, and whose aims and practices are consistent with the objectives of the council, shall be eligible for associate membership.
Or
Any self-employed individual, firm or corporation operating as a wholesale insurance broker and/or managing general agent, authorized by RIBO, whose aims and practices are consistent with the objectives of the TIC shall be eligible for associate membership.
Any self-employed individual, firm or corporation offering supporting services to commercial insurance brokers, whose aims and practices are consistent with the objectives of the TIC, shall be eligible for supporting membership.
This category is not open to insurance companies, insurance litigators or adjusters. Applicants must have the recommendation of two current TIC board members as sponsors.
