The TIC works to advocate on behalf of its members on legislative, regulatory, and common supplier issues affecting the P&C insurance community, particularly those concerning commercial insurance.

Representing the interests of commercial brokers within the industry, the TIC Executive Committee enjoys ongoing working relationships with:

• Insurance Brokers Association of Canada (IBAC); (board & committee representation),

• Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario (IBAO),

• Other provincial insurance broker associations across the country,

• Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario (RIBO), and

• Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC) + its member companies.

Consultative relationships with:

• Canadian Council of Insurance Regulators (CCIR)

• Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI)

• Financial Services Commission of Ontario

• RIMS Canada Council

• Toronto Insurance Women’s Association (TIWA)

• Women in Insurance Cancer Crusade (WICC)

And on-going sharing of information with:

• Canadian Underwriter Magazine

• Insurance Business Canada

• Thompson’s World Insurance News

All of the above relationships have not only provided access to decision-makers within the industry, they have also increased the TIC’s ability to field questions that relate to our industry.
